Just in time for spring - Eggs in a Nest craftivity

Hello Friends!

Here is quick and easy activity for you to use with your young ones that is just in time for spring! The teacher decides which number is to be decomposed and students create that many eggs. After the eggs are completed, students decide how many eggs have hatched and how many eggs have not hatched. These are glued onto a nest on a branch. When this step is complete, students write a number sentence using the number sentence label. This activity can be easily differentiated by assigning different numbers to be decomposed by different students!

Enjoy!

Blessings,

  1. Thank you for such a cute idea. I was thinking of having my 2nd grade students also write fractions to reflect the number of items in the nest.
