Literally or Figuratively?

Figurative language is fun to teach, but not always an easy concept.  Years ago, I decided to begin teaching it using tall tales.  My students LOVED it!  So, I created this free Paul Bunyan pop up book and hyperbole lesson.  The lesson focuses on hyperbole while teaching students about Paul Bunyan.  The best part are the pop up books that students make at the end of the lesson.  Here are some pictures of them.

It's a fun lesson, that makes my students remember the meaning of hyperbole.  Here are some pictures of the other pages included in the free lesson.  I hope your students enjoy it as much as mine do.  Enjoy!
