What do ants have to do with persuasive writing? “Hey, Little Ant” is my all-time favorite book to use when I teach persuasive writing.
I love the book because it really sets the scene. The book alternates between the perspectives of an ant and a little boy who wants to squish him. They both argue their point of view, but the author leaves the debate unsolved. The story is the perfect segue into persuasive writing because the kids can relate to it, the illustrations are fabulous, and the story provides arguments for both sides.
I think the finished product turned out nicely. Check out what two of my cuties did.
