Alligobbler

Alligobbler is made out of a long green envelope. It's a wonderful math manipulative, helping students understand the concept of greater and less than in a fun way.

Alli's jaw is the greater-less than symbol. Students choose a partner and flip playing cards 1-35 deciding whose number card is greater and whose is less than.

They say and show the 10> 5 equation with their alligobbler.

The student with the "greater" number, feeds it to their Alligobbler. When there are no more tiles left, students spill out their Alli envelopes, sort the 2 colors and count how many tiles they have.

The one with the most tiles wins the game. The game can be repeated by the "less than" number taking the tiles.
