Animal and Plant Adaptations

These are a few worksheets you can use when you teach about animal adaptations.

I usually have my students start by observing our crayfish or bess beetles to look closely at their structure (or body covering) and then notice their behaviors (or actions).

Then we carry it over to animals and plants that are well known or local to Virginia and look for ways they adapt – both structurally and behaviorally.

You can use them as:
 Introduction to lesson
 Quick check
 At a science center
 As a JigSaw lesson

I hope you enjoy these ideas and FREE worksheets...

And make sure you stop by and read about what's going on in my classroom.
