I have always tried my best to teach my students about the various holidays celebrated in December and January. I live in an area where the majority of families celebrate Christmas. Over the years I have found that students are sometimes unaware that not every person celebrates Christmas. Some years I have been able take time and teach my students about the many different winter holidays as big units, but other years I simply don't have the time. When time is short, I like to at least read books about different holiday celebrations. I created these word searches to use with my students this year after each read aloud. I hope you find them useful.
