Are you looking for a different way to sort, tired of buttons and leaves, try cookies!! Students love to use food with math and this is a great way to work on sorting using attributes. I had my students each bring in a cookie so we could sort the real thing and eat them of course. But we also did a group sorting activity using cookie jars and paper cookies that I laminated so we could do a couple of samples. Then students created their own sorting rule and sorted their cookies into their jars.
