Friends~I wanted to tackle a challenging nonfiction book with my class during our guided reading groups. I decided that we would focus on text features first and then move to dissecting the text. We used the form below to begin hunting for text features. I asked them to picture walk the chapter and then shade in any text features they saw. We then went back and discussed the features to help get them ready to read.
